Getting a PS5 is extremely difficult, but with preparation and a bit of luck, you can get one quickly. First, open four or five store websites in separate windows. Here are my top picks:

PlayStation Direct
GameStop
Best Buy
Sam’s Club or Costco
Walmart (not recommended due to frequent issues)

Next, install a Chrome extension called “Easy Auto Refresher” to auto-refresh your tabs every 10 seconds. This helps you catch restocks in real-time.

Be sure to log into each store and have your payment and shipping information saved. You want to be able to check out fast—no fumbling with credit cards.

Leave your browser windows open and monitor them. Based on experience, the best time to buy a PS5 is between 1 PM and 3 PM Pacific Time.
