How Much Does YouTube Pay? My Real Ad Revenue Breakdown

so there seems to be some sort of secrecy about how much money YouTubers make so in this video I'm going to show exactly what I make with Google ad revenue and believe it or not even small YouTube channels can make a decent income from Google ad Revenue probably enough money to help pay your rent or mortgage and as a bonus I'm going to show you a couple of my top YouTube videos and how much they've earned thus far and guys if you don't know this my name is Mike I love technology I love networking I love computer builds I love TVs gaming consoles all things technology if you enjoy these things as well make sure to hit subscribe and the bell notifications and while you're there give a thumbs up and share this video so I have what is considered a small YouTube channel with under 50,000 subscribers however I do average between 375,000 and 430,000 Views per month which is more views than many YouTube channels with 100,000 subscribers remember you get paid with views and not subscribers subscribers are a vanity metric but I do love all my subscribers and yes more more subscribers can lead to more views but not always so the ad Revenue I'm going to show you is before taxes and just a heads up YouTubers get taxed pretty heavily so it's recommended to set up a YouTube channel as an LLC and get that tax ID as well this will help lower your tax liability and just a heads up I'm not an accountant or a tax expert but I do play one on TV so let's get to the ad Revenue so I'm going to show you one month of total revenue total views total watch hours and how many additional subscribers we gained that month this is January 2024 and to be clear YouTube ad revenue is highest in November and December because of Christmas and typically those two months had the highest view counts because everybody's home for the holidays typically there's a drop off in January February and March so first let's look at total views our total views for January 2024 were 49,4 pretty impressive our total watch hours for that month were 14,700 and we also gained 1,300 new subscribers high five to all my subscribers and here's the best part total revenue for January 2024 was $1,722 and guys and gals remember this is before taxes and does not include Amazon affiliate programs and patreon now let's take a look at two of my best videos this video home networking 101 how to install two routers in one network has almost 554 th000 views with a total watch time of 18,000 hours and 2,000 subscribers high five total revenue for this video is $3,154 23 okay now we're going to take a look at my number one video on YouTube this is cat 6 cable run and Cat 6 wall fishing total views is 73,000 total watch time is 53,000 hours with an additional 4,000 subscribers high five and total revenue is almost $55,000 we're at $4,995 a49 not bad so guys and gals I wanted to be totally honest about what I make on YouTube and I wanted to be totally transparent and all the money that I make on YouTube goes back into this channel I buy a lot of my products for testing I had to buy new camera gear new lighting new microphones running a YouTube channel is very expensive but even though it's expensive to run this channel I love it and I love all you guys and gals so if you're thinking about starting a YouTube channel remember you don't need a million subscribers to make some money I have less than 50,000 subscribers and I make a decent living well anyways guys and GS I hope you enjoyed this video thanks for watching thanks for sharing subscribing commenting all that good stuff I love all you guys and of course I'll see you guys in the next video real soon high five peace
