How to Connect and Fix Delay on a Soundbar with an Optical Cable

[Music] what's up guys welcome back to the channel i'm mike this is the ultimate tech hub thank you for joining us i really appreciate it so guys today's episode i'm going to show you how to set the sound bar with the fiber cable i'll show you how to connect the fiber cable as well as troubleshoot it to make sure it works we'll then show you the settings on the tv to get the sound bar working and then lastly we're going to fix that annoying delay because we know a lot of sound bars can have a delay and they're going to fix that and guys no matter what brand tv you have or sound bar what i'm going to show you today will work so without further ado let's get started and guys don't forget hit subscribe it's free all right the first thing you want to do is connect the fiber cable to the back of the tv this connection is known as the optical connection so insert either end of the fiber cable into the optical connection and you'll probably notice some red light that's coming out of the optical connection don't worry that's normal next you want to plug the other end of the fiber optic cable into the back of the sound bar and that connection looks the same as well and before you plug the optical cable into the sound bar you should notice some red light coming out the end if you see a red light then you're all good however if there's no red light that means there's no connection and this indicates one of two things either the connection on the back of the tv is not pushed in all the way or this optical cable is damaged so check the tv connection first and if that doesn't work then your cable is bad then go buy a new cable they're not too expensive okay now let's go to the sound settings on your tv first thing you want to do is turn off your speakers on your tv this option might be in advanced audio settings so check there now at this point go ahead and check your tv for sound all sound should come out of the sound bar if it does then you're all good however with most sound bars you most likely have a problem with delay like when someone is speaking the sound is coming out later so now let's go ahead and fix that delay in the sound settings on your tv under digital audio out you need to set this to pcm and once again check the audio for delay if there is a delay don't worry we'll get it fixed another easy way to fix the delay is to restore default audio settings try this and see what happens now if this works but you still notice a small delay go to the lip sync settings and audio sync settings on your tv which are in the sound settings menu and make some adjustments while the audio is playing on your tv go one at a time until it's all synced up and also with the newer sound bars you can adjust the sync settings with the soundbar remote control our soundbar is kind of old and does not have the capability but using our tv sound settings we got the audio synced up perfectly so at this point your soundbar should be all synced up and working well there are a multitude of adjustments you can make with your soundbar but really that's all personal preference as long as you have no delay that's the most important thing hey guys make sure to follow us on instagram we do tech product giveaways every four months and to be eligible for these drawings you must be following us and also guys i want to encourage you to visit my patreon page where two dollars a month helps keep this channel going and for every new member we do a personal shout out on the very next video so guys remember if you like this video give a thumbs up and share it if you love it hit subscribe to keep this channel alive thanks again for watching and i'll see you in the next video real soon peace you
