Step 1: Installing the Samsung 860 EVO SSD

Before cloning your old SSD, you need to install and initialize the new drive.

Connect the new SSD to your computer using a SATA cable.
Open Windows Disk Management by typing diskmgmt.msc in the search bar.
Right-click the new SSD and select Initialize Disk.
Create a new volume using the default settings.

Step 2: Cloning Your Existing SSD

Cloning your old SSD ensures all your data, operating system, and settings transfer to the new drive.

Download and install Samsung Data Migration Software.
Launch the software and select your current SSD as the Source Disk.
Select your new Samsung 860 EVO as the Target Disk.
Click Start to begin the cloning process.

Note: Cloning 232GB of data took approximately 36 minutes.

Step 3: Replacing the Old SSD

Once cloning is complete, follow these steps:

Shut down your computer.
Remove the old SSD and replace it with the newly cloned Samsung 860 EVO.
Boot up your computer and confirm the new SSD is detected.
