Looking for one mouse that handles both gaming and productivity? In this review we put the Redragon M916 Pro—also called the King 4K—to the test. It’s ultra-light (under 50 g), wireless, rechargeable, and uses the PAW3395 sensor with up to 26,000 DPI and 4,000 Hz polling. We cover performance, comfort, battery life, software quirks, and long-term usability to help you decide if this sub-$35 mouse fits your setup.
| Weight | Just under 50 g |
|---|---|
| Sensor | PixArt PAW3395 |
| DPI | Up to 26,000 |
| Polling Rate | Up to 4,000 Hz with 4K dongle (software shows 1,000 Hz max if dongle not connected) |
| Connectivity | Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz (dongle), or wired USB |
| Battery Life | ~150 hrs at lower Hz; ~75 hrs at 4K polling |
| Buttons | 5 programmable + scroll click (50M-click Huano switches) |
| Software | Wired connection required to apply settings (DPI, profiles, macros, polling) |
| OS Support | Windows, macOS, Linux, Unix |
| Typical Price | Under $35 USD |
Install Redragon’s software, connect the mouse via the USB cable, then adjust DPI steps, profiles, macros, and polling rates. Changes must be saved while wired; after that you can unplug the cable and continue using Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz. If the 4K dongle isn’t plugged in, the app will only display up to 1,000 Hz.
Expect around 150 hours per charge at lower polling rates. At 4K, our experience was ~75 hours. The three connection modes—Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, and wired—make the M916 Pro versatile and travel-friendly, especially for laptops.
The Redragon M916 Pro (King 4K) delivers a rare combo: ultra-light design, strong sensor, multi-mode wireless, and optional 4K polling—at a budget price. If you want a single mouse for gaming and productivity without paying premium-brand prices, this one is easy to recommend.
0:01 Finding the perfect mouse for both gaming and productivity can be a challenge. Today we take a detailed look at the Redragon King 4K Pro, also known as the M916 Pro.
0:11 I chose this mouse for several reasons: it’s ultra-lightweight at just under 50 grams; it isn’t large or bulky; it’s rechargeable, so no disposable batteries; it’s wireless; and it has a minimal look with five customizable buttons plus the scroll wheel. It’s also priced under $35, which is excellent for what you get. This is not a sponsored video—we purchased the mouse ourselves. Let’s see what the M916 Pro can and cannot do.
0:55 In the box you get decals, a charging cable, the 4K dongle, and the mouse.
1:05 There is no RGB lighting, which is refreshing because many mice include RGB by default. The five buttons—left, right, scroll-click, and two side buttons—are fully customizable with Redragon’s software. Underneath the mouse you’ll find the two skates, the PAW3395 sensor, the DPI button, and the wireless switch for Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz.
1:41 To customize the M916 Pro, download and install the Redragon software. Connect the mouse to your PC or laptop with the USB cable; configuration changes cannot be made wirelessly. After you save your settings, you can unplug the cable and even close the app. The software offers standard options such as DPI steps, profiles, macros, and polling rates. The maximum DPI is 26,000 and the maximum polling rate is 4,000 Hz. If the 4K dongle is not plugged in, the software will only show up to 1,000 Hz.
2:29 After spending over 200 hours testing the M916 Pro, here are my findings. [Brief off-topic exchange removed for clarity]
2:54 Overall performance is very good. The mouse feels fast, lightweight, snappy, and responsive. The sensor and clicks are excellent. It uses 50-million-click Huano switches, and I experienced no tracking issues or unintended double-clicks. The clicks are a little loud, but at this price that’s acceptable. The mouse supports 4K polling, though higher polling rates drain the battery more quickly. I generally use 2K and can’t feel a difference in regular use.
3:31 In terms of feel, the size is just right—neither too bulbous in the middle nor too slim at the rear. It fits my large hand well. The minimal weight reduces strain and accommodates different grips. You can relax your fingers forward and still maneuver with precision and ease.
4:02 The look is sleek and minimal with almost no branding. Materials feel a bit inexpensive overall, which is understandable at this price. The primary buttons feel good. The scroll wheel is somewhat spongy with less-defined steps, making it easy to overscroll. The two side buttons also feel a bit cheap; long-term durability will need time to judge. The stock skates are basic, but they’re easy and inexpensive to replace for a smoother glide. The PAW3395 sensor is very accurate—maybe not the absolute best available, but solid, and better skates can enhance the feel further.
5:03 Battery life: Redragon claims up to 150 hours on a single charge. That matched my experience at lower polling rates. At 4K, I saw about 75 hours. Since I prefer 2K and can’t tell much difference, battery life stays strong.
5:22 Versatility: The M916 Pro supports Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless, and wired modes. Bluetooth is my favorite for laptops. Remember, you must be wired to change settings in the software. With three connection options and a compact size, it’s portable and great for travel. It’s compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Unix.
5:53 Overall, the M916 Pro offers excellent features and specs, low weight, strong performance, long battery life, multiple connection options, solid build quality, good in-hand feel, and an outstanding price under $35. If you want a mouse that handles both gaming and productivity, the M916 Pro is a great choice. The product link is below—please like, share, subscribe, and comment. See you in the next video. Peace.
