what's going on guys welcome back to
another video
from the ultimate tech hub and as you
can see
the snow is coming down pretty good and
today we're going to answer an important
question
can you fly your drone in the snow
well let's give it a go and find out
and guys before you attempt to get out
there and fly in the snow
you need to make sure you have that
trust certification and there'll be a
video link right here showing you how to
get it
and don't worry it only takes about
three minutes
so guys we're going to attempt to fly in
the snow
using our dji mavic mini
this is the original but if you have the
mavic mini 2 the second generation
then the information in this video will
still help you out as well
so before you get all excited and start
flying in the snow
make sure your cell phone your drone
batteries
and the remote for your drone are all
fully charged
and since the weather out size below 32
degrees
and much colder when you get your drone
above 200 feet
my first recommendation
is to fly your drone in the house
or at least hover the drone for about
five minutes
get it warmed up
and the drone feels warm to the touch so
perfect for going outside and flying in
cold conditions
so once again
make sure that all your batteries are
fully charged
and make sure to hover your drone inside
the house for about five minutes to get
it warmed up and that's it
and now let's go ahead and give it a
shot
and one more thing when you start flying
your drone outside
keep your drone low for a while
to see how it reacts in the snow and the
cold
and we were kind of lucky it wasn't
windy outside at all
and after you've flown up for a couple
minutes
and it reacts normal
with no issues
then go ahead and go higher
we went to 200 feet right away
and the view was amazing
you can see snow all around the valley
and don't be surprised if you get a
temperature warning from your drone
because remember at 200 feet it's really
cold up there
but once you get the drone warmed up
you can push it even further
and for us we went to 400 feet and the
view up there is incredible
and once again we were lucky
we were getting light snow nothing too
heavy
but the drone handled it perfectly we
flew it until the battery went dead
we're almost dead and i have heard that
the smaller drones like the mavic mini
and the mavic mini 2
do not handle the cold weather as well
as the larger drones
but so far it handled it just fine
and just a heads up when you're flying
your drone
and the wind picks up and the snow
increases
and visibility is low you want to fly
your drone low
below 100 feet and keep a clear line of
sight of your drone just in case
something happens
and we do not recommend flying this
drone in heavy snow
like i said before we were getting light
flurries
and once we landed the drone
there was some water on top of it
but not a lot
the spinning of the fan blades should
keep the water off the drone
but as always be careful with the drone
fly it safe and most importantly have a
lot of fun
well guys we're all done here
